Charities Conference
Unfortunately, due to the withdrawal of a keynote speaker and a low uptake on tickets for this event, we have decided to postpone this conference to February 2023. We are very disappointed not to be hosting the event in November, but look forward to seeing everyone in February 2023.
Charities Conference
- Lunch and refreshments included
- Guest speakers
- Breakout sessions
- Opportunities to network
- Small exhibition area with subject matter experts to answer any of your questions.
At Risk Evolves, we are privileged to work with a number of not for profit, charity and membership organisations. However, we’re aware that the current instabilities in the economy and beyond potentially present a greater risk to these organisations than others. As a team, we want to help you make your organisation more resilient to change, and to provide an opportunity to network with your peers in order to learn from each other. We therefore have decided to host a conference. As part of the day, we will have a number of keynote speakers, and time set aside for specialist advice from the Risk Evolves team and our partners.

Confirmed speakers at the event are:
- West Midlands Cyber Resilience Centre speaking about the current threats and attacks that the police are investigating, and steps that you can take to reduce the risk
- Accountants HB&O providing us with guidance specific and relevant to the not for profit sector
- Gallagher Insurance sharing details of the current claims that they are seeing, and to provide insight on where they see the current challenges
- Rob Pearce from Response Consulting will chair a panel discussion with a number of funding organisations to explain what they look for in charity applications
- Our very own Anna Walters will share her experience on how to avoid common data privacy pitfalls
- and many more…
Each session will be for a maximum of 30 minutes and will include a section for Q&A. Additionally we will have a number of breakout sessions covering information security, data privacy, HR etc.
Upcoming free webinars from the Risk Evolves team
Part of the Resilience Through Risk Management free 30-minute webinars series, as always we promise no death by PowerPoint!
Horizon Scanning
With the world continuing to recover from the implications of Covid, we’ll speak with our Senior Risk Manager and ask him to look into his crystal ball to understand what future risks and opportunities organisations will face. We’ll discuss with Steve how organisations can perform their own assessment of risks within their industries, and how to look beyond at global events. We’ll touch on whether black swans exist and the potential impact of gray rhinos. As always, plenty of time to quiz Steve on what he’s seen during his 40 years in the industry.
Basics of IT
Thursday 23rd June 2022 : 11:00 – 11:30 BST
The world of IT is full of jargon and TLA’s (Three Letter Acronyms!). If you feel that you’re being left behind on conversations with your IT provider / supplier, don’t know a firewall from a router and are confused by 2FA and MFA, then this session is for you. We’ll be joined by the Information Security members of the team for discussion on the various terminology. They’ll be plenty of time for you to pose questions, and to make sure that Barri and Mandy don’t use jargon, we will bring back our jargon box. For every acronym they use, will make a donation to one of our nominated charities, Molly Ollys.
ISO 27001 - Future Changes
Thursday 23rd June 2022 : 12:00 – 12:30 BST
ISO27001 is the world’s leading information security standard. Like all the standards, they are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure that they continue to reflect best practice. Earlier this year we saw the update and revision of ISO27002. ISO27002 is the guidance standard that supports ISO27001. Ahead of an expected announcement later this year on the final changes to ISO27001, we’ll provide an overview of the changes that we can expect to see, and the timescales that the changes will need to be implemented. This session is ideal for anyone who either has ISO27001, is in the process of implementing, is considering ISO27001 or is just curious on the benefits of having a certified information security management system.
What is ESG?
Thursday 23rd June 2022 : 14:00 – 14:30 BST
Yet another acronym has surfaced in newsletters and other publications. But what is ESG and why is it attracting so much interest, discussion and debate? And more importantly, where do you start if you’re asked for your organisations position. In this webinar we will explain what ESG stands for (Environmental, Social and Governance) and explain how, in our experience, no company is starting with a blank sheet of paper. We’ll share some of the actions that Risk Evolves have taken to demonstrate commitment and predict how we see this developing in the future.
Driving for Work
Thursday 23rd June 2022 : 15:00 – 15:30 BST
As the world returns to a new post covid normal, it is important that we reconsider and refresh our health and safety processes for employees. However, one aspect that is frequently overlooked when considering risk assessments for staff is when they are driving for work. With 1 person being killed or seriously injured on UK roads every 22 minutes, how employers manage their ‘grey fleet’ is often overlooked. In this session with our Health and Safety expert, Ruth Waring, we will discuss what actions employers should be taking and provide some hints and tips on how to reduce the risk to individuals and to their organisations. As always, there will be plenty of time to ask questions.
Data Privacy – Back to Basics
Thursday 23rd June 2022 : 16:00 – 16:30 BST
We last ran our popular basics webinar over 12 months ago. In this session, we will be joined by our resident GDPR geeks, Anna and Andy, who will remind us of the principles of the privacy legislation. We’ll share some case studies that we’ve been involved with in the 4 years since the GDPR was a hot topic, and explain why understanding the principles is key to compliance. This session is for anyone who is new to Data Privacy or would just like a refresh on what’s been happening over the last 4 years. As always, lots of time to pose questions for the dynamic duo.
