Proud to support our Armed Forces community every day

This Armed Forces Week, we say a special thank you to every member of the Forces community and their families. At Risk Evolves, we are proud to support the armed forces community and celebrate their dedication and service.

Armed Forces Week is the perfect time to recognise and celebrate our support for the armed forces community and reflect on their unwavering commitment. This year’s week-long campaign takes place from 22–28 June, marked by Reserves Day on 25 June and culminating on Armed Forces Day on 28 June. Celebrations are planned across the country, with 2025 holding special significance as the 80th anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day.

At Risk Evolves, we are privileged to support the armed forces community directly through our pioneering Military Mentorship Scheme. This initiative provides Service leavers with valuable insights into civilian careers while helping businesses tap into a talented pool. The project has helped several former Service members integrate their military skills into the civilian workforce.

In 2024, our team was honoured to receive a Gold Employee Recognition Scheme (ERS) award from the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD).

Helen Barge, Managing Director, said:

“It is an absolute honour to receive the Gold Award, which emphasises our commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community. We will proudly display our Gold Award as a testament to our continued commitment to the Armed Forces community.

“The transition from military service to civilian life marks a significant milestone for thousands of service personnel each year. While these individuals possess exceptional leadership skills, strategic thinking abilities and a strong work ethic, navigating the commercial sector can present unique challenges.

“Other than time, it costs us absolutely nothing to deliver but the benefits to everyone involved, including us, are huge.”

Taking personal responsibility for security

Your data is a gold mine to criminals and its value just keeps rising. Much of our working and personal lives are online – emails, websites, shopping, and social media – and we can be lulled into a false sense of security.

Having a strong password is your first line of defence. Simple codes are just not enough.

“Sitting in our office or at home we can feel secure when, in reality, we are incredibly vulnerable,” explained Helen Barge, Risk Evolves’ Managing Director.
“If you do not take simple precautions, you are exposing yourself and your business to financial loss, extortion, fraud, identity theft and other cyber threats.

Fending off cyber criminals requires more than just an IT solution. We all have personal responsibility for keeping our organisations safe.”
Your biggest asset is also your weakest point when it comes to data breaches – you.
