Why is Risk Management important?

A business must take risks to evolve but there is a difference between risk and gambling. Risk is about informed decision making. Risk is about understanding the consequences of the actions that you may be taking. It’s about making good decisions and anticipating and expecting change – both negative and positive’. Conversely, gambling is throwing caution to the wind and to “just going to do it anyway”.

These are all risks that we take, but we balance those risks with the knowledge of what those outcomes can be.
